Safe Sitter - Babysitting Program

Safe Sitter participants will learn:

  • What to do when a child chokes

  • Safety for the sitter

  • What to do in an emergency

  • How to set up a babysitting business

  • How to screen job requests

  • How to manage problem behavior

  • How to prevent injuries

  • How to manage injuries

  • Infant and child CPR

  • Infant and child choking rescue

  • How to entertain children of different ages

All information is medically accurate and is taught by trained Safe Sitter instructors. During the course, students get hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis. Also, each student receives a manual filled with great information and resources for the course and on the job, a Safe Sitter backpack, important numbers Post-It pads, a Band-Aid dispenser and flashlight. Breakfast and lunch are provided.

Safe Sitter Class

Safe Sitter is a two-day course that prepares 11-13 year old girls and boys to become safe and effective babysitters. The two-day course is from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm on both days.

Cost is $60.00 per student for two-day course.

Teen Safe Sitter Class

The Teen Safe Sitter class designed for older teens ages 14, 15 & 16.

Cost is $45.00 per student for one-day teen course.

Pre-registration is required and course fees must be paid before the start of the class in order to be listed on the class roster.
