Accreditation and Designation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Accreditation Requirements and Descriptions of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Woman’s Foundation and the Acadiana Pediatric Society.  The Woman’s Foundation is accredited by the LSMS to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Objectives

  1. To use the diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder to be able to identify when a patient is suffering from depression.
  2. To effectively be able to treat depression with appropriate medication, and to familiarize self with appropriate dosing and augmentation strategies.
  3. To identify at risk behaviors and signs of suicidality.
