We are excited to announce that we will be resuming in-person Safe Sitter classes this summer with extra precautions. Our team has thoroughly analyzed and implemented the best and safest safety measures to ensure the health of all attendees, instructors and staff members. Our goal is to maintain a valued level of engagement while following CDC recommendations.

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate course to help young teens aged 11 and up feel more confident in their ability to care for younger children. Topics covered include infant and child CPR, caring for a choking infant or child, injury prevention and management, behavior management, safety for the sitter, childcare essentials and more. This class can even help young teens feel more comfortable staying home alone.

All information is medically accurate and is taught by trained Safe Sitter instructors. During the course, students get hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques, so they are prepared to act in a crisis. Also, each student receives a manual filled with great information and resources for the course and on the job, a Safe Sitter backpack, important numbers post-It pads, a Band-Aid dispenser and flashlight.

Safe Sitter is from 9-3:30pm. Check in will begin at 8:30am. Students are required to bring their own lunch, but snacks and water will be provided. A registration form will need to be completed and turned in prior to class, this form will be sent out via email no later than the Friday before class. The child’s birth certificate or proof of age will need to be provided before participating in class to ensure the child is at least 11 years of age.
